Photo shoot with Fygeludi
Two friends, one passion:

After 10 years, Fygeludi’s new album Oh Fuck Yeah is finally here. I had the chance to contribute to this great project by shooting their press photos. The session went so well that some of the images even ended up on the album cover. Big thanks to Mark Hohn for the awesome layout!
The brief: simple, nothing too fancy—but it had to make an impact. The photos also needed to fit their first single release Kosmos.
My head was bursting with ideas. I immediately sent the rappers three mood boards. B.O. Liger and Fagant quickly picked two of the concepts.
After a short chat, we agreed they would wear white clothing, similar to astronauts. For the background, we’d use white and, alternatively, a bold color. They liked a green I already had in my studio.
For the second setup, we wanted to play with cosmic colors. I decided to experiment with color filters, not mounted on the flash like usual, but in front of the lens. I taped one or two filters that felt “cosmic” to me directly onto my lens. They left the color choice up to me, and I ended up loving the green and orange combo.
The shoot with the Fygeludi guys (Fygeludi roughly means “fresh and fly” in Swiss dialect) was a blast. When photographing musicians, I love how free and playful things can get. And they seemed to enjoy it too, showing off everything from acrobatic to classic hip-hop poses. Special shoutout to Julie Fuhrmann: their hair and makeup were on point.

Nach 10 Jahren erscheint das neue Album von Fygeludi “Oh Fuck Yeah” . Mit Pressefotos durfte ich auch einen Beitrag zu diesem tollen Projekt leisten. Die Fotosession mit den Jungs war dann so gut, dass sogar Bilder für das Albumcover verwendet wurden. Ein Danke an Mark Hohn für das gelungene Layout.
Das Briefing: Simpel, nichts aufwändiges. Soll aber stark rüberkommen. Die Fotos sollen zu ihrer ersten Single-Release "Kosmos" passen.
Mein Kopf platzte vor lauter Ideen. Sogleich sendete ich den Rappern drei Moodboards. Die Rapper B.O. Liger und Fagant entschieden sich gleich für zwei Konzepte.
Nach einer kurzen Absprache beschlossen wir, dass sie weisse Kleidung tragen werden - ähnlich wie Astronauten. Als Hintergrund würden wir weiss und alternativ eine bunte Farbe einsetzen. Ihnen gefiel ein grün, welches ich bereits im Studio hatte.
Als Zweites beabsichtigten wir kosmische Farben zu nutzen. Ich wollte es mit Farbfiltern versuchen. Vielfach werden Farbfilter an den Blitzgeräten montiert, ich hingegen hatte Lust mit den Folien vor der Linse zu spielen. Dabei klebte ich ein bis zwei Filter, die ich farblich als "kosmisch" empfand, an mein Objektiv. Die Farbwahl überliessen sie mir, wobei mir die Kombination von grün und orange am besten gefiel.
Das Shooting mit den Fygeludi (Bedeutung = hübsch zwäg gmachten) Jungs hat sehr viel Spass gemacht. Bei Fotos für Musikkünstler/innen kann Frau wunderbar alles austesten und spielen. Auch sie schienen Spass zu haben: Sie tobten sich von akrobatischen bis hin zu coolen Hip-Hop Posen aus. Dank Julie Fuhrmann sassen Make-up und Haare wie eine Rackete ;).
